Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli

The architects and designers Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli have designed for FIAM two mirrors in curved glass: Hiroshi and Ritratto.

Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli have been working in partnership since 1986 in the associated studios of Rome and Milan. They work in the fields of design , interior decorating and exhibit design. In the field of industrial design, they have worked with major brands such as Driade, Montina, Laboratorio Pesaro, Oluce and Salviati. Their projects of interior design have been published in the most important Italian and international magazines and, in 2004, they participated in the Biennial Exhibition of Architecture in Venice in the section “News from the Interior” . In the field of exhibit design there is the important anthological exhibition “Gio Ponti: a World” at the London Design Museum and the Triennial Exhibition of Milan in 2002-2003. Recently in Rome they designed the restoration of the “Museum of Roman Civilization” for Fiat Engineering.

Laudani and Romanelli: not only designers

Both flank their design work with intense critical meditation on topics involving living and design: Marta Laudani teaches “History of design” at the master program for curators of museums of contemporary art and architecture at the La Sapienza University in Rome; Marco Romanelli was director of the journal Domus from 1986 to 1994 and since 1995 he has held this position for Abitare. Among the numerous editorial works there are:

  • Aperto Vetro (Biennial Glass Exhibition at the Correr Museum in Venice), Electa 2000;
