Massimo Morozzi

Massimo Morozzi has designed the display in curved glass Babele by FIAM.

He was born in Florence in 1941 but he has lived and worked in Milan.

He was one of the founders of the Archizoom Group until 1972. From 1972 to 1977 he coordinated the Montefibre Design Centre for the development of furnishing textiles, helping to found the Primary Design disciplines.

He became then an associate of the CDM (Consulenti design Milan) group and developed designs for coordinated images (Rome Airports) and product lines (Louis Vuitton-Paris).

In 1982 he established an independent practice and directed his attention to the sector of the product design of service objects for the home, and for mass consumption products in general.

Projects, works and expositions

Functional innovation and a strong figurative factor are the distinguishing features of his most recent projects with Alessi, Cassina, Driade, Fiam Italia, Giorgetti, Ideal Standard, Mazzei, Tendentse, Edra, Progetti, Metals and Sintesi. He has developed important designs and projects with Japanese companies, including a concept car for Nissan and the Crea logotype. He is art director of Edra and Mazzei for which he also handles graphic design. He has given lectures and seminars in Amsterdam, Sao Paolo, Melbourne, and Tokyo and at the Domus Academy and European Design Institute in Milan. His works are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Musée des Arts Decoratives of Paris.
